EUGENEE': In the beginning of the book Miles,Pop, and Uncle Roy are living in the apartment above the club “Pharaohs.” When they hear about an awful hurricane 5 category is coming to New Orleans.

They face problems when it is time to go to the Superdome. When they get there Miles in mesmerized by the Superdome’s grass. He goes and plays football with the little kids, when he meets a varsity football player Caine. When it is time to eat Caine,Miles and Dunham go to the line and skips half of it. One man becomes angry.

Over time while in the Superdome they meet some of Pop’s aquantices while in the Superdome. Cyrus the crazy dishwasher that worked at Pharaohs was there, and his family. They take on a journey from stinky smelly bathrooms to sleeping on hard concrete. Then the problems become worse when Cyrus jumps and kills himself, because its so hard for him to live in those harsh conditions. Then when it couldn’t get any worse it did. Caine and his crew started to terrorize the people in the Superdome. They took their money, clothes, and their belongings.

These were harsh enough by themselves. But Pop and his people finally stood up to that bully and gave him what he deserved. When it is finally safe to go outside they take whatever they had and left. But it was still like a prison camp they were barricaded up and could not go anywhere. Pop came up with a plan to escape, and it worked!!! Then Miles wanted to go and escaped as well and was successful. Him and Pops walked the streets looking at th mildewed walls and water filled houses.

As they’re walking they see two men taking a piano out of a club that Pop knew a lot about. As these two tussle with the guys Miles nearly loses his life for it. Pop is finally proud of his son for the work he did for that. They finally came to the club they’ve been looking for “Pharaohs”. Half of the place was gone, Miles and his father saw the old furniture from they’re apt. Then Pop started to play in the middle of the place. Then Miles started to play drums ,and they played till they’re heart sank. They moved to Seattle, to play for a little while then moved back to New Orleans.

THE END
