Discussion Director - Your job is to respond to at least three questions for your group to discuss Hurricane Song

What do you know about Hurricane Katrina's impact on New Orleans? Do you remember your reaction when you learned about what had happened?  Well Hurricane Katrina did a lot of damage to our city,a lot of people lost their homes. My reaction towards the horrible news were very terrifying.

Why do you think this is an important novel? What messages do you think Paul Volponi was trying to get across through this story?  This is an important novel because its like a wake-up call to people. The message that Paul Volponi was trying to give out was to appriciate what you have before it's gone.

If you had to take refuge in the Superdome like Miles does, what would you bring with you and why? The importants things that I will bring is clothes, so that I would stay clean.I would also bring food, so I wouldnt go hungry, and ect.

Super Summarizer Your job is to summarize the book.

This book is about how Miles had to move with his father in New Orleans.Miles and his father has never agree on anything.Miles dad loves music, while Miles loves playing football. Then Hurricane Katrina had came and they had to go to the Superdome. When they were in the Superdome they had witness a lot of stuff. After the Hurricane was over they saw all the damage that the hurricane had done. They were so heartbroken and sad. This is a good book and I would recommend this book to my friends because it shows that you need to live your life to the fullest before everything be gone......Jeri Burkhalter
